Galaxy Held to Scoreless Draw by DC

Not much to say from the Galaxy side and that’s a bad thing. With Landon Donovan on Gold Cup duties, the offense really seemed to lack bite all night. With 1 shot on goal and 8 attempts on goal for the entire 90 minutes, the Galaxy never really looked as if they were going to pull 3 points out of this game.

Todd Dunivant

DC looked the more threatening side. Josh Wolff probably had the best chance on goal in the 25th on a well-played cross from Andy Najar. The defense was serviceable as usual and continues their clean sheet streak at 4 games. Not the result that was wanted or needed with RSL and Dallas winning their games this week, but a point is a point and now LA will look forward to playing TFC next Saturday.

Short Corners

– The Galaxy’s shutout streak now stands at 411 minutes. The same back 4 has been used for the entire shutout thus far.

– The Galaxy have been held to one shot on goal at home for the first time this season

– Cobi Jones was accepted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame over the weekend before the 4-0 drubbing of the US by Spain. The former Galaxy midfielder retired in 2007 after 333 appearances for the club along with 72 goals.
