Get to Know Your TFC Players: Ryan Johnson

Here’s part one in a series of player profiles I will be conducting throughout the season. They are just some fun interviews with TFC players in order to help fans “get to know” the players off the pitch.

Ryan Johnson

First off we have Ryan Johnson, the Jamaican born forward who has been one of the few bright spots for TFC early in the 2012 season. Johnson was a third round pick by Real Salt Lake in 2006. He played seven games with RSL before being traded to the Chicago Fire. After a very brief stint in Chicago he went overseas, spending a season with Swedish club Osters, registering two goals in fourteen games. He came back to MLS in 2008 with San Jose, spending close to four years with the club. He was named team MVP in 2009 as their leading goalscorer. Johnson was then traded to Toronto midway through the 2011 season for Nana Attakora, Alan Gordon and Jacob Peterson.

Johnson is one of the more interactive players on the team. Usually in good spirits, Johnson was joking around throughout the interview and seemed to have fun answering the following questions.

Alex Moretto (AM): BMO or Rogers Center?

Ryan Johnson (RJ): BMO
