FC Dallas Looks to Bounce Back Against Chivas

FC Dallas will travel to the Home Depot Center this weekend where they will face Chivas USA who are 4-5-5 and are currently in 7th place in the Western Conference. FC Dallas is coming off an embarrassing 4-1 loss to Sporting KC last week, but hopefully they have put that behind them and are looking for nothing less than 3 points this weekend.

Brek Shea

The injury report for tonight’s matchup is pretty light, Chivas USA will be with DF Jimmy Conrad and FC Dallas will be without defender Edson Edward and midfielder David Ferreira.

The key to tonight’s matchup for FC Dallas will be controlling the midfield. Chivas USA will often push their back four up the field and try to condense the field of play in the midfield.  This is a gamble on their part but if Shea and Alexander are patient with their possessions they should be able to find space behind the Chivas back four. Chivas USA also has one of the smaller backlines in the MLS so FC Dallas should look to take advantage of this on their set pieces.

I wouldn’t look for any drastic changes for FC Dallas after their 4-1 loss last week to Sporting KC, it was just their first loss in the past 10 games. But I am anxious to see how the guys bounce back tonight against a talented Chivas team who is also coming off a loss.
