The Houston Dynamo have been trying all season to add an offensive spark to their roster and they did just that on Thursday with the signing of Honduran forward Carlo Costly. Costly comes to the Dynamo on loan from Mexican side Atlas de Guadalajara. Costly joins the Dynamo at the perfect time as rookie forward Will Bruin recently underwent knee surgery and will miss an extended amount of time.
With the signing of Costly, the Dynamo will now have two big target forwards up front. Costly stands 6 foot 2 while Brian Ching is 6 foot 1. With Ching, Costly will benefit from the service of MLS assist leader Brad Davis. Costly has scored 18 goals in 48 international appearances for Honduras. Costly will be eligible upon receipt of his international transfer certificate and approval of a P-1 visa.
The Dynamo have also been in the market for an attacking midfielder. According to Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle, the Dynamo have reached a deal with Brazilian Luiz Camargo. We will await official word from the Dynamo but if the report is correct, the deal could be announced today.
