Dynamo Acquire Nathan Sturgis from Toronto

The Dynamo made their first pick up of the offseason Wednesday when they traded a conditional draft pick to Toronto FC for midfielder Nathan Sturgis. The 24 year old comes to Houston after spending last season in Canada with TFC. He played in 14 games for the Reds, starting 11 of them. He scored no goals and recored no assists.

Nathan Sturgis

Sturgis will join a crowded Dynamo midfield with Adam Moffat and Luiz Camargo. Coach Dominic Kinnear is the kind of coach who makes moves to get players he likes and he will surely have a plan for Sturgis. Sturgis has also played for Seattle, Real Salt Lake, and the LA Galaxy. His one career MLS goal came in 2010 while a member of the Sounders.

Kinnear showed last season in the acquisition of Moffat that he can take a player and mold them into a great fit for the Dynamo system. Sturgis has the versatility to play in the midfield and on defense and he looks to be a great addition to the defending Eastern Conference Champions.
