FC Dallas will be hosting a red hot LA Galaxy team this Sunday at Pizza Hut Park it will be a tough game for a FC Dallas team coming off a 10-day road trip, and after losing their star David Ferreira to an injury last week. This week and the next few weeks will test the depth of the FC Dallas team.
FC Dallas came out in the 4-1-4-1 formation against Vancouver last week with Fabian Castillo playing up top and Brek Shea starting at the left mid position. I expect to see the same formation this week against the Galaxy but with the possible insertion of offseason acquisition Ricard Villar into the center mid position with the absence of David Ferreira.
The key players this week for FC Dallas will be the FC Dallas backline mainly George John, Ugo Ihemelu, and the captain Daniel Hernandez. The FC Dallas backline will need another good performance this week and be prepared for consistent, pinpoint crosses into the box from Beckham and Donovan. The Galaxy are patient and with their possessions and move the ball around with a purpose they will try to break down the FC Dallas backline. John and Ihemelu will need good communication and try and not get to aggressive on the flanks this week.
Overall FC Dallas is a good team. They have won 2 out of their last 3 games and they have talented young players, but this week they will begin life without David Ferreira, something they have not ever had to deal with. I am interested to see how the team responds and see who will step up for FC Dallas in Ferreira’s absence.
