FANTASY MLS FOR XI: SO MUCH DC UNITED, SO LITTLE TIME

DC United have a lot of matches to play in the next few weeks. “How many”, you ask? They play SEVEN matches in four rounds. Seven. That’s a lot. Obviously, Ben Olsen’s going to have to manage his players’ fitness and rotate accordingly, but if you find the right players, you can stand to profit over the next month. Or, at the very least, you’ll be able to keep up with all of the other players that are getting on the DC United fantasy bandwagon.

So, with that on our mind, let’s turn to your MLS Fantasy Round 11 questions:

@Fpl_Deadeye: is woodberry long term?

Woodberry’s filled in fairly well for injured Darrius Barnes, and I see that continuing for the foreseeable future. Barnes will be out for around six months, so it’s Woodberry’s position to lose.

@McIntoshRosco: To Kaka or not to Kaka?Is he the luxury item who’s not givin the points for his price tag?#AskTravis #MLSFantasy

Right now, the answer is “not to Kaka”. He definitely has the capability of putting up good numbers, but right now, Orlando’s offense just isn’t clicking, and you have a ton of other good options in the midfield for Kaka’s price.

@baerwitness: Any thoughts on Giles Barnes value moving forward?

Giles has been playing outstanding soccer, which has turned into a bit of a double-edged sword, because his good play has earned him a Jamaican national team call-up. So, I wouldn’t plan on keeping him in your lineup for too long.

@Hal_Kaiser: Why have I been fairly awful for the past month plus?

Honestly, a lot of that is probably just bad luck. You had consecutive weeks with players red carded — that never helps. This game isn’t 100% skill, and even the best strategists in the world will need a generous helping of luck to win this game. Keep making the moves that you think are going to pay off, and the law of averages should hopefully sort itself out eventually.

@Vamos_DCU: Is it worth keeping Fabi even though he won’t play 2day? Good matchup on Sunday and value will go up over DGWs

@Hayden_Taylor9: Are you taking the risk and having Espindola in your team this week. Or would you rather have a healthy Arrieta?

If you believe Espindola is definitely going to play on Sunday, then he is a great single-game pick, especially if you already have him. I wouldn’t burn a transfer to remove him. That said, I don’t know if I personally am going to pick him up if I don’t see him in the starting XI on Wednesday. It’s a little too risky for my liking.

@ssnyder467: Any word on Birnbaum?

Nothing definitive yet. If you can, hold off on your roster moves until 6:00PM Central. The team’s lineup should be released via Twitter an hour before the transfer window closes.

@RubioSoccer35: Do yall have any news on @keikamara Injury? Will he be good to start this week?

I definitely recommend following @AdamJardy for all the latest #CrewSC info! Per Adam, Kei was absent from training on Monday, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t play this weekend.

Best of luck to everyone… unless you’re playing against me this week!
