FANTASY MLS FOR XI: TIME TO PLAY WITH FIRE

Most of the time, excelling at MLS Fantasy takes dedication and careful weeks-long planning to navigate the byes and double-game weeks. This week? Throw it all out the window. After Round 26, which will start TONIGHT AT 7:30 CENTRAL, all fantasy teams will get a round of unlimited transfers. What does that mean for you? Anything you do this week will have absolutely no bearing on how you need to plan for future weeks. Want to take a gamble on someone for this round only? DO IT!

Double-game teams: CHI, COL, HOU, NYR
Bye teams: None

@mkstnr Manneh: Yay or Nah?

Nice word-play there. If you already have him on your team, he’s definitely a good option. He’s been on fire lately, Houston is missing a lot of starters on the back line, and they will be on short rest after playing in Colorado tonight.

@MikeDatTiger: What do you think about Chicago this week? Orlando’s been very porous on defense, and they have two Ds suspended.

Chicago’s worth taking a risk on, especially since there’s no long-term ramifications for gambling on someone for this week. Kennedy Igboananike has been in the best form for Chicago , but he’d be taking up a forward slot that would be much more suited to a more consistent option. I might actually gamble and try Harry Shipp one more time. With Shaun Maloney gone, Shipp will likely take a more central role in Chicago’s attack, and at $8.1, he’s probably the best of the DGW options at that price.

@baerwitness Time to bail on Ellis?

Only if you need to free up money to spend on a DGW player. He’s a serviceable option against Colorado, who have struggled to produce goals lately, but shipping him for Matt Miazga or Connor Lade is a good move.

@notbtmn Is BWP a good idea, since he’s got a DGW? If so, who should I put him in for, Kamara, Villa, or Keane?

BWP is my captaincy pick for the week, but it’s going to be tough to decide who to trade out of those three single-game players — all three are hot. As much as I’m hesitant to, I’m probably going to suggest removing Robbie Keane. San Jose have been solid at home so far. They haven’t played LA at Avaya Stadium so far, though, either.

@bix_tx_morales Can I disguise my #MLSFantasy team neglect as an experiment in deviation from the mean?

Yes. But you can also get a mulligan — next week, you can redo YOUR ENTIRE TEAM with no penalties. Now’s the time to start fresh!

Best of luck, everyone!
