Week 5 MLS Predictions & Fantasy Lineup

The fifth week of Major League Soccer action is around the corner with 16 teams competing in 8 matches. In regards to my predictions last week, I scored 5 out of 10 so my batting average is STILL .500. MLS sure does love its parity and this proves it. Let’s see what week 5 has in store. Here are my predictions for this weekend’s action:

DC @ Orlando – Orlando WIN
Toronto @ Chicago – Toronto WIN
New England @ Colorado – TIE
LA Galaxy @ Vancouver – LA Galaxy WIN
Houston @ Seattle – Seattle WIN
FC Dallas @ Portland – TIE
RSL @ San Jose – TIE
Philadelphia @ Sporting KC – TIE

What 2Watch 4
Will the Colorado Rapids actually score a goal this weekend? They are the one and only team left in the league that has yet to give up a goal or has yet to score one of their own. Funky stuff, huh?! I see this matchup ending 1-1.

Who do you have winning this week? What match are you most looking forward to checking out? None of these games jump off the page to me. A few have some interesting story lines but nothing overly appealing. LA versus Vancouver should prove to be exciting. New England versus Colorado is only interesting because I am curious to see if Colorado will still have zeros in the “goals against” and “goals for” columns. FC Dallas and Portland in the Rose City should be quite the battle. By the way, why do the Red Bulls have another off week already? That’s two in the first 5 weeks.

fantasyLastly, above is my fantasy lineup for week 5. What do you think? How is your fantasy lineup doing? Good luck to all in week 5.
