FC Dallas (11-5-6) will come back home this weekend and face Chivas USA (6-7-8). Chivas USA had been struggling early on this year, but are now on a 5 game unbeaten streak and they are coming off a 3-0 win over the Houston Dynamo. FC Dallas are coming off a 2-2 draw to the New York Red Bulls in league play and a 1-0 win over Alianza FC in the preliminary rounds of the CONCACAF Champions League.
I have no doubt that fatigue will be a factor this week for FC Dallas they have played their last 3 games in 3 different countries and according to the twitter world, FC Dallas was stranded in El Salvador the past 2 days. They just got back to Dallas yesterday afternoon.
FC Dallas has been playing very well as of late, they have only allowed 2 goals in their past 7 games and have had excellent results on the road. They are the best team in the league right now and have in-my opinion-the league’s MVP in Brek Shea.
I would anticipate FC Dallas coming out with a 4-5-1 formation with Chavez playing the lone striker up top. FC Dallas should look to control the midfield against Chivas USA, I think whoever controls the midifield in this game has the best chance to come away with 3 points.
FC Dallas has been busy traveling all over the country this month and fatigue will definitely be a factor. But I think FC Dallas will continue their winning ways this weekend at home. They will also have another short week ahead of them, because the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League will be this Wednesday at Pizza Hut Park.
