FC Dallas (5-3-3) will take their 6 game unbeaten streak to Qwest Field Wednesday night to face the Seattle Sounders FC (4-3-5) who are unbeaten in their last five games at home.
FC Dallas is coming off a 0-0 draw to Real Salt Lake in what was a much anticipated match between Western Conference rivals, but turned out to be a game with very few scoring opportunities and a 1 hour and 52 minute rain delay did not help.
FC Dallas has gone unbeaten in their last 6 games because of the play of their backline, anchored by George John and Ugo Ihemelu. Since John and Ihemelu have come back from injuries there has been a lot better communication in the backline and they all appear to be really comfortable with each other. They also have not given up a goal in 399 minutes of play. Hopefully the defense will continue this trend in Seattle, but they will face a potent attack in Fredy Montero and Roger Levesque.
I would look for FC Dallas to come out in the 4-4-2 against Seattle, they have gone with this formation in the past few games and it has worked well for them. Having the speedy Marvin Chavez and Fabian Castillo playing up top together would give any defense problems. Also FC Dallas should look to continue their quick counter attacks against Seattle and take advantage of the speed of Marvin Chavez.
Overall FC Dallas is playing pretty well defensively, despite injuries to key players they seemed to have come together and rally around each other.
