Big news came out of Frisco, Texas this afternoon when word came down that midfielder Eric Avila had been traded to Toronto FC for striker Maicon Santos. FC Dallas will also receive an international slot from Toronto FC. This leads me to believe that FC Dallas is still looking to make a big international signing.
Maicon Santos is the former captain for Toronto FC and he has started 15 games this year, and was their leading goal scorer with 6 goals. The 27 year old Santos is an established player in MLS and at 6 foot he will give FC Dallas another big body inside the box.
FC Dallas has been looking for a true forward to step in and make things happen, and hopefully Maicon Santos will be that guy.
