Giovanni Dos Santos?

Rumors are circulating that the Galaxy have offered to deal with Mexican international, Giovanni Dos Santos. Dos Santos hinted in an interview with Univision that he will not be making any decisions until after Mexico’s Gold Cup run and he is still under contract with the Spanish side, Villarreal.

MLS added a new rule on Wednesday called “Target Allocation Money” that could let teams add a fourth Designated Player to the roster. Under this rule, teams are allowed $100,000 a year for five years to spend on new players outside their normal salary budget of $3.49 million.

This would allow the Galaxy to pay down Omar Gonzalez’s salary down so it goes below the Designated Player line so they can use the DP spot on Dos Santos.

Stefan Ishizaki Mutually Part Ways
Last week’s game against Toronto FC was midfielder Stefan Ishizaki’s last with the team as he asked to be released from his contact a few weeks ago. Ishizaki posted an open letter to the club’s fans after LA’s 4-0 win over Toronto FC on Saturday evening, saying that he would be returning to his native Sweden for family reasons. He has made 38 appearances over the last year and a half and has scored five goals.

Gerrard Press Conference
The Galaxy held a press conference on Tuesday to officially present Steven Gerrard to the media. “If there’s anyone who thinks I’m here on holiday or here to collect my last paycheck they’ll be proven wrong,” Gerrard announced. It looks like his first game will be tomorrow night against Club America in the International Champions Cup and his MLS game will be on July 17th against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Robbie Keane was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 18 of the 2015 MLS season for his performance against Toronto FC this Saturday at StubHub Center. Keane scored his 3rd hat trick since joining the LA Galaxy back in 2011.
