Galaxy Look For Win in Texas

Earlier this week, LA Galaxy played in a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur. Although it was only a friendly, LA players, especially the young players that we rarely get to watch, as well as the new players Brian Rowe and Marcelo Sarvas, were really impressive. This is exactly what LA fans wanted to see. Not only was LA able to hold Spurs to a 1-1 draw, they showed that LA has depth in the bench. This will be helpful in the next few months when LA plays CCL matches along with their MLS matches.

The next match for LA Galaxy will be away, against FC Dallas. They are another team who hasn’t done that well this season. Like LA Galaxy, FC Dallas had a very strong 2011 season. This season though, they’ve had their ups and downs. Break Shea, one of FC Dallas’ best players, has had a rough 2012. Not only with FC Dallas, but with the US as well. For those of you who don’t remember, Shea was part of the US U-23 squad that didn’t qualify for the Olympics this summer.

However, FC Dallas did win their last match against Portland Timbers 5-0. So which side will LA see on Saturday? Hard to say. LA Galaxy will be missing Landon Donovan, who’s suspended as a result of yellow card accumulation, and maybe even David Beckham, who flew back to the UK after the MLS All Star game on Wednesday. No need to worry though, LA has shown that even without these two, they are able to compete against some of the best teams, i.e. Spurs for example.

Right now FC Dallas are at the bottom of the table, above only Portland Timbers. Although it is an away game, I think LA Galaxy has a good chance of winning on Saturday and coming back to LA with all 3 points. My prediction? A 2-1 win for LA.
