LA Hopes to Forget Loss in Seattle

This is a match that LA Galaxy fans will want to forget. After winning 1-0 away at Dallas, while missing two DPs, Captain Landon Donovan and David Beckham, it looked like this match would be much closer than the last time these two teams played, when Seattle won 2-0.

When I first saw the starting lineup for LA Galaxy, I was pretty confident. To me, it looked like a strong lineup. Here they had all their 3 DPs. When Seattle scored their first goal, in less than 10 minutes, I wasn’t worried. I’d seen this happen with LA before, they concede an early goal and then they come back to win, or at least get a draw. AT HT, Sounders were up 1-0, but I was still confident that LA would score a goal or two. What happened in the second half? Let’s just say, I was wrong, very wrong.  A few minutes after the second half started, Seattle doubled their lead. At this point, I still thought LA had a chance to get at least a point. Less than 10 minutes later, Sounders scored again, making it 3-0. I started thinking, what is going on with LA’s defense? They were playing more like the early ’12 LA team, than the recent one. The one that had been on a 5 game unbeaten streak coming into this match. Seattle scored their 4th and final goal just minutes before the end of second half. Seattle won 4-0.

I was very disappointed with this result. I’m sure many Galaxy fans were. Had LA won, they would’ve been in 3rd place in the Western Conference. Instead, they will stay in 5th, with Chivas USA right on their heels. The next game for LA Galaxy is Chivas USA. They won their last game against them and will try to get all 3 points again. I hope they can put this result behind them and focus on their next match.
