Week 13 NASL Match Preview

Fort Lauderdale Strikers v Tampa Bay Rowdies

The last match of the Florida Derby for this years campaign is sure to be an exciting match. The Strikers are two points out of the last playoff spot and are coming off a 2-1 win against Indy Eleven. The Strikers will try to keep up their run , and look to clam the coastal cup . The Coastal Cup is a trophy awarded to the best club who gets the best result during the Florida Derby . The Rowdies are coming off a 1-0 loss to FC Edmonton , and are going to look to turn their season around , to try to clam a last spot in the playoffs ( Rowdies are 4 points out of the last playoff spot). Both Supporters groups ( Ralphs Mob- TBR & Flight 19- FTL) are going to be in full support of their clubs and going to make a great atmosphere. This is going to be the most exciting match of the week and that is why it is the (ESPN3) NASL MATCH OF THE WEEK, where ESPN 3 streams a NASL match each week.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Fafa Picualt- he is an explosive , fast player so we should see him be a playmaker on the pitch and maybe score a goal. (Fafa used to play for the Rowdies and know is playing on the other side of the Flordia Derby )

Indy Eleven v Carolina Railhawks

The Eleven has sold out every home match so far but have not won a home match , so they will set out to try to get a good result against the Railhawks. The Railhawks have won their last two matches . The Railhakws are currently sitting in the last spot for the championship. In their last meeting Indy Eleven took 3 points from the Railhawks . It is going to be a cool match for the neutral fan because here are two clubs that are competing and trying to hang on to their spot on the playoffs.

Player To Watch: Kléberson he leads the club with 8 assists , so we might see him set up most of the goals tonight.

Atlanta Silverbacks V.S. San Antonio Scorpions

Both Clubs are currently on losing streaks , and are looking to end them tonight at Silverbacks Park. The Scorpions are 5 points out of first place in the combine standings. The Scorpions have a very talented and deep team so I cant see them losing that much games , but anything can happen and specially against Atlanta. Atlanta is a very talented club and people should not write them off early on in the game they could surprise some people.

Player to Watch: Jaime Chávez (ATL) leads the club with 8 goals and is an explosive player so look for him to set up or score a couple of goals.

Ottawa Fury FC v Minnesota United FC

Both clubs go into Sunday’s clash with the same record 3-2-1 (W-T-L). Minnesota has been on fire on both sides of the ball ( defense & attacking) they have scored 38 goals and their defense has gave up 19 goals. A player to watch is Christian Ramirez, he leads the league with 15 goals and is arguably going to be the league MVP. This match is up for grabs because of the Fury stop United and Ramirez than they might have a chance to clam the full 3 points.

New York Cosmos v FC Edmonton

The Cosmos travel North of the border , to face FC Edmonton (5W-3D-4L) , who last week earned a very important point against the Rowdies. The Cosmos lost against the Railhawks which was a bad loss and not a game Cosmos fans would want to remember. Andres Flores and Diomar Diaz are expected to suit up for the Cosmos. The Cosmos are hoping to turn there current form around and still qualify for a championship spot.

Player to watch: Mads Stokkelien – he is a talented striker and look for him to always be in the right spot at the right time ,which means he may score a goal or set one up.
