Yesterday the Tampa Bay Rowdies announced a international partnership with Brazilian giants São Paulo FC. São Paulo is the most successful club winning 18 titles. Also São Paulo is a three time world champion. This is a great partnership on and off the pitch .
People on social media have been sounding off on the partnership. Some people have said that the partnership is nothing to get excited about , or its not a big deal. They are wrong , this is a big deal for the city of Tampa Bay and for the Rowdies.
Under the partnership , the Rowdies will be able to participate in cup style tournaments like in the 70’s. Another option is talent , each club could exchange players , which is a huge thing for the Rowdies. The Rowdies will potentially be able to bring in a young but talented player to the squad , from São Paulo.
Talent is not the only thing under the partnership , but marketing is another important thing. You might be asking yourself it seems like the Rowdies are benefiting more from the deal , but both sides are equally. São Paulo FC is already a big club in Brazil , but they want to expand and grow their fan base in the United States. For both clubs yesterday was an historic day that they will never forget.
