Sporting Earn Late Draw and Sign Two New Players

For the third MLS match in a row, Sporting Kansas City escapes with a come from behind draw. This time it was Aurelien Collin who plays the hero. The draw extends Sporting’s 11 match unbeaten streak in MLS play. Sporting missed out on the chance to gain valuable points in the chase for the final playoff spot, which they will be competing with Houston for.

Sporting came out and played very well once again; however, despite vastly outshooting Houston, Sporting only managed a 1-1 draw after a 90th minute goal by defender Aurelien Collin. The match also was a disappointment in the sense that coming off a USOC loss to the Richmond Kickers, you expected more flash and firepower from the Sporting players.

This weekend Sporting, also, added defender Daneil Cyrus and midfielder Jeferson on loan from their respective clubs in Trinidad and Tobago and Brazil. The players are expected to add depth in the center of defense and fill the gaping hole at attacking midfield.

Up next for Sporting will be an international friendly vs. EPL side Newcastle United at Livestrong Sporting Park on Wednesday. After that they get back to MLS play next Saturday vs. Toronto FC.
